Darcy Luna
Owner/Managing Partner
With over four decades of experience in workers' compensation defense and subrogation, Darcy Luna is a recognized leader in the field. Darcy is known for her strategic advocacy, meticulous case analysis, and unwavering commitment to client success. As Managing Partner and owner of Luna Law, she leads the firm’s representation of major employers and municipalities, navigating the complexities of California's Workers' Compensation Appeals Board with skill and precision.
Darcy’s professional credentials include serving as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Monterey County Superior Court and the Salinas Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. She is also the current Chairperson of the Monterey County Workers' Compensation Attorney’s Association and a frequent speaker at seminars and conventions on Workers' Compensation topics.
Darcy earned her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1984, following a Bachelor of Science in Political Science (magna cum laude) in 1981. Her legal career began early, clerking for civil litigation and family law firms during her undergraduate studies. She transitioned into workers’ compensation defense in 1988 and joined Luna, Levering & Holmes in 1996. Since then, she has been instrumental in building the firm’s reputation as a trusted partner for clients such as Dignity Health, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, United Parcel Service, and State Farm.
Beyond the office, Darcy’s energy and passion extend to sports and adventure. A dedicated fan of the Oakland…er…Athletics, San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, and San Jose Sharks, she rarely misses a game. Her love of music, sports, and spirited living infuses both her professional and personal life.

John Levering
Partner Emeritus
John Levering received his law degree in 1983 from Empire College School of Law in Santa Rosa, California. He graduated from Montclair State College located in Upper Montclair, New Jersey in 1973. John officially retired from the office on October 1, 2020.

Michael P. Holmes
Partner in Memoriam (1959-2018)
Michael Holmes dedicated his career to Workers’ Compensation law, earning his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University in 1991 after completing his Bachelor of Science at California State University, Chico. He began as a senior claims examiner for California Casualty, managing Hewlett-Packard’s self-insured claims, and went on to become a respected attorney and frequent speaker on Workers’ Compensation issues. Michael served as a Judge Pro Tempore at the Salinas, San Jose, and Oakland WCAB offices and was a former managing partner of the San Jose office of Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi. His expertise spanned complex cases, including 132a claims and serious and willful misconduct allegations, and he skillfully negotiated high-value settlements through mediation and arbitration. Michael passed away suddenly in December 2018.

Paul Mammarella
Associate Attorney
Paul Mammarella has been practicing law in California since 2007, bringing extensive experience and a dynamic, strategic approach to Workers’ Compensation defense. He earned his Juris Doctor from Western State College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach. Paul began his career as a Workers’ Compensation defense attorney for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, where he developed strong employer defense strategies. He later founded his own firm, expanding his expertise to include applicant representation and gaining a comprehensive perspective on both sides of Workers’ Compensation claims. With a deep understanding of defense and applicant matters, Paul delivers well-rounded, effective case strategies, making him a skilled and insightful advocate for employers across California.

Christian Ferguson
Firm Administrator
With more than 25 years of executive leadership experience, Christian Ferguson serves as the dynamic force behind operations at Luna Law. As Firm Administrator, she brings deep expertise in human resources, operational management, and organizational development—driving efficiency, alignment, and a strong internal culture. Christian is known for her hands-on leadership style and her ability to lead teams through change while maintaining a focus on excellence and accountability. She oversees firm-wide initiatives including policy implementation, financial management, compliance, and employee engagement—always with an eye toward continuous improvement and ethical leadership. A champion of servant leadership, Christian is passionate about creating an empowering, collaborative workplace where individuals thrive and the firm’s strategic goals are realized. Her work not only strengthens internal operations but also reinforces the firm’s unwavering commitment to client service and integrity.

Chris Jolley
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of Luna Law, Chris drives operational efficiency, service excellence, and strategic growth. His visionary leadership aligns with our mission to provide exceptional legal representation, fostering a culture of integrity and continuous improvement. With over 35 years of executive experience, including multiple CEO roles and 25 at Microsoft, Chris has led key initiatives in marketing, operations, and business transformation. He previously served as CEO and Chairman of FitMyFoot, innovating personalized footwear solutions through 3D and AI, and has successfully launched over 30 products, including seven initial releases.
